As a general rule, if your gearbox or transmission has a problem, you'll need a recovery service before booking a garage, as the car probably won't drive.

If, however, a gearbox/transmission issue has been detected during MOT or other service, the garage will let us know, and we'll find out everything you need to know about solutions, costs and parts.

While most of our garages can work on these kinds of issues, there's always a chance that a new, specialist garage may need to be found.

Either way, we'll communicate with you at every step and make sure you're able to make informed decisions about what to do next. We'll never carry out additional work without your approval.
